We are currently researching a similar problem with Vista where the SplendidCRM plug-in does not appear even though it is registered properly.  The problem on Vista is that Outlook needs elevated access rights to enable the plug-in.  We are hoping that Microsoft can help us resolve this issue, but in the mean time, the solution on Vista is to run Outlook as an administrator.  This is easily done by right-clicking the icon and selecting "Run as Administrator".

I mention this Vista problem because it may be the same problem that your folks are experiencing on XP.  Please have your XP folks try the "Run as Administrator" trick.

I had this happen when I installed Microsoft's CRM package for Outlook - removed that and restarted Outlook and magically everything was back to normal.

The plugin does not show up in the COM add-ins on any of the machines that I've checked. I tried to add the dll's in the Splendid Outlook Plugin directory as a COM addin, but the following error: " is not a valid Office Add-in."

I've only had the plugin disappear from one of my users computers (out of about 30). I talked to some folks at another company using Splendid and they said that the plugin has eventually disappeared on every machine that they installed it on.

Any thoughts?

On Vista, we found that we had to use the "Run as Administrator" option when running Outlook in order for our plugin to configure itself.  After running as adminstrator one time, we were able to run Outlook normally.  Please try this to see if it solves your current problem.
