Selecting items with data paging

Im just wondering if there was any plans to implement using the "check all" function correctly with data paging, or even selecting indivudial items?

When a user goes to the the contacts page and wants to mass update, he/she should be able to  click "check all" then go to page 2 and click "check all" again. In the current implementation, if the user goes back to page 1, all of the contacts are not selected anymore.

Multi-page checkboxes are difficult to manage.  We have so much on our plate that this feature will not likely be implemented soon.  As an alternative, we could create a show-all link.  It would allow the same effect, but you would have other problems as the number of items exceeds 1000.

A show all option would be very useful, but what are the issues when the number exceeds 1000?

Here is another scenerio for you.
A user is in the contacts selecting items to sync back to outlook, he/she is on page 3, they click sync in the mass update section. They are now brought to page 1 instead of being on their last selected page.

I have already developed a checkbox/paging system for gridviews for a previous project. The 1st thing I am going to do is implement this functionality along with the above scenerio for my company.  I am a fan of .net open source software and like to contrubute back to the projects that we use. I could not find any info on your site of the steps i need to take to submit code for review. Could you point me to this?

Just to give you an update, Ive scheduled time to work on this feature 3 weeks from now.
