I was looking for a way to group contacts in a many to many relationship. For example: the same contact could be under several accounts and an account can have multiple contacts. I tried to do this but this would duplicate the contact and remove the customer from the account on editing. Am I trying to do this in the wrong place? Is there another way for multiple contacts to be stored across multiple groups?

This is certainly possible, but you will need to license the SQL source code to do it properly, and you will have to maintain your changes separately so that they can be re-applied after every SplendidCRM update.
