I recently installed SplendidCRM.
I am having trouble displaying the import page(s) when I click the import button (on Accounts, Contacts, Leads, etc...). It hangs when trying to bring up the import.aspx page. I don't have this problem when I launch the site from the local machine though.
Help.
I would like to demo this product to a customer.
How big is the file you are importing? How fast is the machine you are running on? Have you checked the Web.config value to ensure that the size your are trying to import is within the limits. Check the maxRequestLength value.
It's a fast fairly fast computer. 2.6 gHz Pentium 4 1gig Ram.
I don't know if I'm explaining this right. If I click the Accounts tab, for example, and then click the "Import" button (under Shortcuts) - it hangs while trying to bring up the import.aspx page. This only happens when I attempt to do this from a remote computer. If I go to the computer that is hosting the site everything works.
It sounds like a permissions problem. On the computer, right click on the SplendidCRM Web Site folder and grant Everyone access, and apply to all children.
I've done as you've suggested... no luck.
I've gone as far as installing SplendidCRM on a different computer in a totally different location. I am experiencing the exact same issue. Using the local machine I don't have a problem. When I try to connect to the webserver from a remote computer the import.aspx pages hang when I try to connect to any of them.
I'm using the default install with MSDE 2005

I've got some additional information. I happened to walk away from the computer for awhile and upon returning the import.aspx page was finally rendered. I was able to navigate the import tabs with no problem.
I decided to run a test by going to another tab (Contacts) that has the import functionality. I clicked the import button and waited... and waited... and waited. The page took 30 minutes to render. As I stated earlier, I did a separate installation on another computer (on a totally different network). I did the same test by trying to render the import.aspx page from a remote machine (on the same network). The page finally rendered but it took a long, long time.
