If I understand the problem correctly, the value being displayed does not belong to the field you are specifying.  This can happen if the SQL views need to be recompiled.  There is a Recompile link under Edit Custom Fields on the Admin page.

The following is the corrected button settings.  Control Type was changed to Buttonlink.  Text Field is set to ID.  Url Format is set to ~/Cases/edit.aspx?PARENT_ID={0} [image]

In the Admin area under Dynamic Buttons, search for Accounts.Cases. 1. Change the Create from a Button, to a ButtonLink. 2. In the Text Field, specify ID.3. In the Url Format field, specify ~/Cases/edit.aspx?PARENT_ID={0}

After you enter the Case Inline Edit, you should have a Full Form button. You can change the inline edit button to be a full form button in the Admin Dynamic Buttons area.As a side note, we call shortcuts the items in the menu dropdowns.
