We are making great progress on the SplendidCRM Plug-in for Outlook 2003. The tools provided by Visual Studio 2005 are excellent, but limit us to supporting Outlook 2003. Although it would be nice to support Outlook 2002 or Outlook XP, it simply is not the best use of our time.
The SplendidCRM Plug-in for Outlook 2003 will be licensed separately and will not be released as open source. However, we are considering providing the source to our licensed customers. What do you think? Would you like to license the source of the plug-in?

It is still too early to tell how we intend to license the Outlook 2003 Plug-in, but we are considering providing the compiled version for free and providing the source code to customers who obtain a SplendidCRM Professional license.
This would have the added benefit of providing a more stable plug-in to users who prefer to use SugarCRM Open-Source.
How will the Outlook 2003 plug-in work?
Can it be a 'behind the scenes' thing so that data seamlessly keeps in sync between Outlook and SplendidCRM? Or will the user need to activate something manually?
The Outlook 2003 Plug-in can be told to automatically synchronize every few minutes.
