Download contacts from SplendidCRM into Outlook
Posted: 14 Nov 08 6:24 AM
When syncing Outlook to SplendidCRM, I have not managed to pull down contacts from Splendid into Outlook.  (I have been able to push contacts from my Outlook to Splendid, and I have seen the calendar sync in both directions.)

What do I need to do to sync Outlook and Splendid and get my SplendidCRM contacts into my copy of Outlook?

If this is not possible, please let me know.

Regards,
Remi.

There is a Sync flag that you must enable in the Contact in the CRM.  Each user must enable this flag to get the contact to sync to their Outlook installation.

Thanks, I found the flag and the means to set it.

Is this to say every time any one of my employees adds a new contact, I will need to ask them to notify me so I can go into SplendidCRM and turn on that flag to ensure I get the contact information sent to me also?  Is there an easier way?

...I have over 1600 contacts in my database right now - imported from my old Sugar install.  Is the only way to get them all to select and set them to sync 20 at a time?  That's going to mean 80 screens, which is a waste of my time...

Actually, you could do something like this

DECLARE @employeeId uniqueidentifier
SET @employeeId = '00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000001'

INSERT INTO CONTACTS_USERS (DELETED, CREATED_BY, DATE_ENTERED, MODIFIED_USER_ID, DATE_MODIFIED, CONTACT_ID, USER_ID)
SELECT 0, @employeeId, getdate(), @employeeId, getdate(), ID, @employeeId FROM CONTACTS

This would create the link for all employees and all contacts.
