Error syncing contacts

Hello.
We've just installed and setup SplendidCRM to try out; I've had an employee entering account and contact information.  Today, I installed the Outlook connector to use.

When I try to sync my contacts between Outlook and SplendidCRM, I get the following error:
Void SyncContacts(Boolean) Line 1944.
The request failed with HTTP status 400: Bad Request.
SessionID = <GUID>
I've looked into it, and it appears that the problem stems from the fact that some contacts in my copy of Outlook are also present in SplendidCRM, but the company name was not entered exactly.

I would expect that this should be a conflict, not an error - why isn't it?

I would wipe out duplicate contacts from Outlook, if syncing with Splendid allowed me to download the contact list from the server.  But as far as I've been able to tell in my testing, it appears that communication is from my computer to the server where contacts are concerned.  (I've had no problems with getting information back from server as far as the calendar is concerned - it's just the contacts I can't pull down.)

Am I missing something here?

I would appreciate any advice anyone can offer.  I haven't found anything on the forums that relate to this.

Versions are:

SplendidCRM to try out (version 4.5.0 build 2.1.3074.33397));
Outlook connector (version 1.4.2824.5474);
MS Outlook 2007 (12.0.6316.5000) SP1 MSO (12.0.6320.5000).

Bad request sounds like a web server issue and not a plug-in issue.  What can you tell us about the server running SplendidCRM?  Have you checked to make sure that the server is not restarting every few minutes?

It's an internal server I have control over.  I can say for certain the server is not being restarted; I can say with confidence that IIS isn't being shut down unexpectedly either.

Server is Windows 2003 R2, SP 2;
IIS 6;
SplendidCRM shares its' application pool with two other applications, none of which see much traffic.  (We're a 12 person company.)

What would be helpful to know about the server?

After a lot trial-and-error, I have been able to get all contacts up by adding them one at a time and editing the properties of those contacts that appeared to be causing a sync failure.  It may have been a coincidence, but the contacts that were causing errors went up fine after I removed notes and made sure the first name field had something entered.  (Two problem contacts had a last name entered, but no first name.)

I would still like to know what I need to do to pull contacts down from the SplendidCRM install to my local copy of Outlook.  Without this, SplendidCRM is not nearly as useful as it could be. 

If this is not possible, please let me know.

There is a Sync flag that you must enable in the Contact in the CRM.  Each user must enable this flag to get the contact to sync to their Outlook installation.
