Hi,

Running the community edition, I would like to make a modification that would populate the "Assigned To" box on the Cases with the actual logged in user whenever the case is opened in "Edit" mode.  Can someone advise as to how to change/modify this in the code?

Many thanks and best regards,

Robby

For a new record, the Assign To default is already the current user. Do you want to change this value to the current user any time a user clicks edit? We already save the current user in the Modified By field.

Hi,

Strange, as the field is empty when I look into the cases.  But yes, everytime a user opens the case then he should become the "Assigned User".

Best regards,

Robby

Hi,

I'll elaborate a bit more.  when indeed you do a reply, then I see in the assigned to field (on the email screen) my current active user listed.  That is perfect.  However, since I am replying to this mail which is part of a Case, I would also like to have, when sending the mail, to have this assigned to user filled in as the assigned to user of the case it belonged to.

Best regards,

Robby

Changing the Assigned To for a Case when you reply to an email within the Case is complicated and would require a C# customization or the Workflow Engine that is part of our Enterprise Edition.
