Version Upgrade Best Practice?
Posted: 11 Jun 08 3:21 PM

I attempted to upgrade my SplendidCRM from version 2.0 to 2.1 using the downloadable "upgrade" package from the web site.  Fortunately, I am using a virtual machine and took a snapshot before the upgrade attempt.

During the upgrade, the package wanted to reinstall SQL Express again.  I have SplendidCRM running on a SQL Server 2005 and have no desire to run SQL Express on this server.

Is there a way to simply upgrade the web site and database without the upgrade process installing SQL Express and/or .Net again?

Did I miss some documentation somewhere that provides a "Best Practice" for upgrading the product?

The Upgrade should not install SQL Express.  We will investigate.

The best way to upgrade SplendidCRM is to run the upgrade utility.
