License...

Hai. We are a small development company and found SCRM useful for our current development work. we already have service, inventory modules. we want to integrate with your SCRM for that we want to purchase the professional license. But the license policy confusing us.

we have 5 developers including me, who will do integration of current modules and enhancement work in SCRM. Then we will launch the product online. i.e On-demand basis. we have our own web server and sql database.

Assume that we have 5 clients and 20 users for each clients. So totally 100 users.

Normally we will have 5 copies of same application and database installed in web server. example

http://crm1.ourcompany.com/ - 20 users will access the system
http://crm2.ourcompany.com/- 20 users will access the system
http://crm3.ourcompany.com/- 20 users will access the system
http://crm4.ourcompany.com/- 20 users will access the system
http://crm5.ourcompany.com/- 20 users will access the system

So how much I need to pay to you.

1000 $   (or) 21,000 $.

$1,000 is all you need to pay because you only have 5 internal users.  We provide a free runtime and hosting license so that you can host as many clients and users as you want.

Three more clarifications please...

First Clarification Item

After purchasing the professional license, Do you provide us the Tech Manual of SCRM ? Actally we need the following items.

  • Database Diagram and ER diagram
  • Data flow diagram between UI and Tables
  • Patterns/Architecture used in SCRM

Note:

If Technical Manual is not a part of license, we are ready to buy it seperately.

Second Clarification Item

In the first question I told that it will be on-demand.

Assume that it is On-site. We will go and install it in 5 client places with Encrypted Database. Now tell me what will be the amount I should pay?

Third Clarification Item

Assume that we have 5 user license and we have 5 developers. Suddenly we want to release a quick module. we are recruiting 4 more peoples. Without paying the additional 4 users license is it possible to use the SCRM. Do you have any hidden technologies to protect that only 5 users can only work at a time. (My intention is not that. But before buying I should have enough information)

1.  We have been so busy adding features that we have not had time to create any documenation.  On the positive side, the application is reasonably simple and you will have all the source.  Just search for a module with a similar feature and cut-and-past the code.

2. As long as you distribute the database in encrypted form, there is no additional fee.  We call this a free runtime license.

3. You can have as many employees in your company as you want.  The only thing we count are the developers and/or users of SplendidCRM.  So, if all 9 employees will use SplendidCRM as their bug tracking system, then you will need 10 licenses (we only sell them in units of 5).

Your licensing policy confuses me. When an organization get one license they get the SQL source code. Then why should they ever bother how many developers work on the source code and again get one more license. Because the source code is going to be the same?
