Great Idea. Just evaluating it now.

I like the idea of selling SBS with Splendid CRM + Outlook module.

I think that will go down a bundle in the UK

I agree, and the price of SBS is excellent for all that you get.  Just make sure to get the version that includes SQL Server.

We considering creating a Exchange Server plug-in to simplify the synchronization of contact and calendar information.  The combination of SBS and SplendidCRM will then be even more compelling.

Creating a Exchange Server plug-in to simplify the synchronization of contact and calendar is an excellent idea. I agree this would be a nice SBS touch.

I have some experence with MS CRM 1.2 and that is a complete pain to setup with exchange. You would think it would be easy - but its not! Have not played with MS CRM 3.0 yet. But once I have got splendid working I will do a back to back compare.

How much effort would such a task be (Exchange Server plug-in)? And would the cost be part of the professional licence?

MS CRM 1.2 is indeed a pain to setup.  Were you successful getting it connected to Exchange Server?  What features does it provide?

We have very few answers regarding an Exchange Server plug-in.  At this early stage, we are just gathering requirements.

Installed MS CRM twice both on Win2000 servers. Both times we had dreadful problems connecting to the 2000 Exchange server. The answer from Microsoft help desk was to move MS CRM onto another server. Which was a shame as it all worked except bulk export of emails. (A handy function for a mail drop)

I understand that the SBS version of MS CRM 3.0 fits quite nicely onto SBS 2003 server. But have not tried it myself yet.

My next task will be to load up a spare machine with SBS 2003, Splendid CRM, Sugar CRM and MS CRM 3.0 and have a play.
