Hi Guys,
I think I understand how Teams work, but I must be missing something, maybe someone can direct me in the right path.
What I want is for two reps, John and Phil, to see the leads they own individually and the ones owned by their Team.
I created a Team - 'A Team' - and added the two reps - john and phil.
I created a Role called Sales Rep and set the Leads > View = Own, List = Own, Edit = Own
I added a lead and assigned it to John and to the 'A Team.'
I expect that both John and Phil will be able to view the lead because its assigned to their Team. But only John can see because he owns it.
If I update the Sales Rep role so View = "All" and List = "All", then the lead list is not filtered for the leads they own via assignment to them or their team. It seems like "Team" should be an option on the role access selection list.
Part 2. Is there anyway to enable both reps to have edit rights on the lead?
Thanks for your help
I suspect that the Role that you created is causing the problem. If you simply allow team management to work, it will allow the two reps to see leads assigned to their private team and see things assigned to the shared team. You would effectively ignore the assigned to field.
Okay. I cleared the "assigned" from the lead record and have a team associated with it.
If in the Roles I set "All" for View, Edit, List, Delete.... the user, which is on the team, has complete access and control to all leads.. not just his own or his team's.
If I set "Own" for View, Edit, List, Delete... the user has control over the leads he owns, although he doesn't have access to the leads that are assigned to his team.
So I'm still confused. How do I setup the team, role and lead so each member of the team has access to the leads that are assigned to the team?
Thanks
Before we can help you with this problem, we need to know the value of the require_team_management flag in the Admin System Settings area.
