I’ve been evaluating splendid and as it happens in SugarCRM, I’m not able to add documents/files to projects. Usually when managing a project there are several files exchanged. I would like to know If it’s possible to add files to a project. I know that I can send attachments in emails and I can associate emails to projects, but would like to add files/documents immediately to a project.

We have scrapped the outlook plug-in due to a deployment issues, terminal server support and the didn't have the features required to make it a viable tool in our environment.

What we did was develop a task bar application that extends SplendidCRM, all editing from the application is actually done through standard SplendidCRM screens enforcing required fields and offering the user a familiar environment,

A few features

1.) Allows users to drag any document (emails from numerous email clients, word documents , 3rdParty Data cubes etc) into an active case or project, it then launches the SplendidCRM Notes screen in a browser and allows users to capture additional details using standard screens and links the attachment to the note.

2.) Enables search features like Google desktop search that queries the actual CRM using soap interface as per outlook plug-in.

3.) Enables quick launch features allowing user to create cases,contacts,accounts etc with quick links and 3rd party web links.

4.) Lists all active Cases for the logged in user with quick links back to SplendidCRM.

As this project is currently in its infancy, we only have 20 users using it and are looking for outside influence to bring our users additional features and give back to the splendidCRM community.
