email to a group of contatcs *target group(
Posted: 13 Dec 07 2:05 AM

HI,

what I want to do:
I want to send an email to  a defined  amount of contacts!

First I tried to do this by defining an email template and then "create email" with this template.
Then I used the function "compose email". In this function I can only pick single contacts with
the corresponding email but not a defined group of contacts.

Second, I tried to do it with a campaign. I defined a "target list" (with my relevant contacts), a "campaign" and
a "email marketing" record. I gave a starting time for the "email marketing" and a looks fine.
But my administrator (provider) told me that this kind of processing is not possible with the "open source version"

my question:
Is there a way to define and process an email to a group of contacts without using the campaign in batch?

thanks a lot

We will be releasing our 1.5 beta very soon that will support this feature in the Campaign module.  It is not that we don't support the feature in the open-source version, it is simply that we have had a lot of other things to do and we simply did not complete this area.

Please check back in a week or two.
