Would the add-in be compatible with IIS SMTP too?

An event sink could be designed to intercept messages for both Exchange and IIS.  This way any email server that can forward a message can reach Splendid. For example, a message sent to support@domain.com on a company's existing MailEnable server could get forwarded the Splendid SMTP(Exch or IIS) with an address like GUID@splendidserver.domain.com

Paul - where do you envisage plugging into the Exchange architecture?

My 2 cents is that if I could get SharePoint working with my MailEnable SMTP server I wouldn't have even gone looking for something like SplendidCRM.

It would be really annoying if the only way to get the benefits of messanging in Splendid was with Exchange.  Really annoying and it would start to shrink the number of people for whom this would otherwise be a nice system.

This is my first night with Splendid and so far it looks good. I thought it would have alerts and notifications using authenticated SMTP already built in but I can always add that myself right :)  The only other annoying thing so far is the IE specific javascript everywhere.  An alternative to LAMP doesn't have to be limited to a completly MS stack ya know. Well unless they are funding you'all ;)

thx and keep up the good work

Your point about IE specific javascript is well taken, but we simply do not have the resources to test the application on any other platform.  Most of our javascript is generic, but if you find an area that could be coded better to support Firefox or Opera, please feel free to send us a fix.

Thanks for your opinion on the use of Exchange Server.  Every vote counts.
