I quess the real question is.

If I look at the SugarCRM user guide, how much of the functionality of that version has been implimented in SplendidCRM and what might be the missing parts if any. I ask because we really like the functionality of SugarCRM but don't want php we are also very excited about being able to use MSSQL instead of MSQL.

The feature set for SplendidCRM 1.0 is similar to that of SugarCRM 3.5.1, with a few exceptions.  SplendidCRM currently does not have any reporting services and it is weak in its handling of email campaigns.  Also, the only way to handle inbound emails is through our SplendidCRM Plug-in for Outlook.

High on our list of features to add include Reporting Services, Themes and Access Control.  We are currently exploring the best way to handle inbound email.  Our favorite approach is to create a Microsoft Exchange Server plug-in, but we also recognize that not everyone uses Exchange Server.

Hi Paul,

I suggest that you base the solution on standards such as POP, SMTP etc. so the solution is not Microsoft specific. There are for example many companies using other mail plattforms such as MDaemon. You could perhaps have a NT service "eventmanager" running on the server that POP's mail from a suitable mailbox such as   support@company.com

Don't get me wrong, I respect your opinion and suggestion.  However, SplendidCRM was founded on the premise of making a Microsoft-centric open-source CRM.  Where ever possible, we will leverage the technologies that Microsoft provides in order to reduce our development burden.
